Arcoxia
Generic Name: Etoricoxib US Brand Name: Arcoxia Other Brand/Trade Names: Etoricoxib is available under the brand names Algix and Tauxib. UsesEtoricoxib is prescribed for patients with acute gout, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, chronic low back pain and acute pain. Active Ingredients: etoricoxib Inactive Ingredients: anhydrous calcium hydrogen phosphate, carnauba wax, croscarmellose sodium, etoricoxib, glycerol triacetate, hypromellose, indigo carmine lake (E132), lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, titanium dioxide (E171), yellow ferric oxide (E172) Dosage and FormsEtoricoxib is an oral tablet. Etoricoxib should not be taken by children or adolescents under 16 years of age. Take Etoricoxib by mouth once a day. Etoricoxib can be taken with or without food. The daily dosage varies depending on the disease being treated. Etoricoxib is not likely to cause the overdose. If overdose is suspected, it is reasonable to employ the usual supportive measures, e.g., remove unabsorbed material from the gastrointestinal tract, employ clinical monitoring, and institute supportive therapy, if required. Contraindications and PrecautionsEtoricoxib should not be taken by patients who had pharmacological interventions, or have unacceptable adverse effects, allergy to any of Etoricoxib element, history of cardiovascular, renal, or gastrointestinal disease. Etoricoxib is contraindicated to women with late pregnancy or breast-feeding child. Side EffectsLike all medicines, Etoricoxib can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
InteractionsEtoricoxib should not be used with the following medication because very serious interactions may occur: acetylsalicylic acid, aspirin, naproxen, diclofenac, rifampin, warfarin, methotrexate, diuretics and lithium. It’s recommended not to take oral contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy while you’re taking Etoricoxib. |
