Uses

Acetazolamide is used to treat glaucoma, to treat and prevent acute mountain sickness (altitude sickness) and also used as a part of some treatment plans for congestive heart failure and seizure disorders.

Active Ingredients: Acetazolamide
Inactive Ingredients: Lactose Monohydrate, Corn Starch, Gelatin, Glycerin, Purified Water, Talc, Sodium Starch Glycolate, and Magnesium Stearate.

Dosage and Forms

Acetazolamide is available in form of tablets, powder for injection or capsules. We offer Acetazolamide in tablets.
Take each dose of Acetazolamide as scheduled by your doctor, with a full glass of water or with food to minimize dizziness.
The Acetazolamide overdose may become apparent by the following symptoms: drowsiness, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, numbness or tingling, shaking, ringing in the ears. If the overdose took place, seek for emergency medical attention.

Contraindications and Precautions

The presence of the following medical problems may affect the use of Acetazolamide: liver, kidney, heart, lung disease, or a hormonal disease.

Side Effects

Common Acetazolamide side effects include the following: decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, weakness, nervousness or mild tremor, headache or confusion, increased sensitivity of the skin to sunlight, worsening gout, loss of blood sugar control (in diabetic patients), ringing in ears, hearing problems, changes in the vision.

Interactions

If Acetazolamide is combined with one of the following medicines, the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered: aspirin, salsalate, choline salicylate, magnesium salicylate, lithium, cyclosporine, primidone, diflunisal.
