Generic Name: Sheric

Uses

Sheric is taken to prevent all types of anemia, pregnancy, lactation and excess blood loss in surgery and menstruation.

Active Ingredients: Mecobalamin (0,005 mg.) (vitamin B12), folic Acid (1 mg.), elemental iron (100 mg.)

Dosage and Forms

In our store Sheric comes as transparent-red capsules with multi-color granules inside.
Pregnant women generally do not get the required nutrients from food alone. Mothers particularly in need of supplementation are those who are younger than 15 or older than 35, those who are expecting a multiple birth and those who are vegan. Supplementation in pregnancy need increased amount of iron, folic acid and vitamin B12 what is essential for DNA synthesis and cell division. The recommended dose of Sheric is 1-2 capsules per day with food.
Patients may experience a mild gastric intolerance in drug overdose.

Contraindications and Precautions

Avoid if allergic or hypersensitive to any ingredients of the formulation.
When taking supplements for treatment it is important to consider toxicity levels. The toxicity of iron is low, especially at low dosages. Also, the body can regulate how much iron it absorbs based on its requirements. Vitamin B12 is easy secreted by the body and thus there is virtually no toxicity concern with iron. The only caveat is that excess folic acid intake could mask a B12 deficiency, therefore make sure you take B12 along with folic acid. However, as is the case with any supplement, it is wise to make sure that you need extra iron supplements before you take them.

Side Effects

Many people think that if some is good, a lot is better. This is not always the case. High doses of certain vitamins can be poisonous. For example high blood levels of iron are associated with increased risk of free radical damage and cancer. Vitamin B12 can be extremely dangerous when taken in mega doses. It can cause liver damage, affect heart rhythms, cause dangerously low blood pressure, elevate blood sugar levels and cause diarrhea.
Consult your physician if you are concerned you are getting too little or too much of any of the necessary vitamins our bodies demand.

Interactions

Concomitant therapy with antacids diminishes iron absorption. On concomitant administration of iron and tetracycline the absorption of both the drugs is markedly reduced leading to diminished therapeutic effectiveness.
